In 2017 MDP Engineering performed a Due Diligence study for the existing 121,106 SF Samsonite Building. The study included surveying existing conditions, noting any possible issues or deficiencies, providing recommendations on actions needed to correct any issues, and giving our opinion of probable cost.In 2018, MDP was hired by Denver Public Schools for the renovation of the Samsonite building to house the increased enrollment for DPS’s High Tech Early College. The mechanical scope includes the replacement of seven air handling units; new boilers; hot water heaters; ADA plumbing upgrades; and a new DDC central control system demolition and replacement of existing VAV’s, air cooled unit heaters at building entries, and grease exhaust fan systems.In 2020, MDP was asked to design the addition of a weight room.
