The Ute people bestowed the name “Tava,” meaning Sun Mountain, upon the majestic Pikes Peak, as its granite visage casts a captivating reflection. In homage to this heritage, Avian’s amenity space is meticulously designed with expansive glass elements that mirror the panoramic views of Pikes Peak for passersby to marvel at. The building’s entrance, adorned with resplendent CORTEN steel framing, serves as an artistic interpretation capturing the adjacent mountain vistas, while the dynamic sloping roof forms emulate the mountain slopes themselves. Colorado Springs, being home to the prestigious United States Air Force Academy, boasts a significant aviation legacy. Hence, the name “Avian” pays homage to this profound influence on the city.
